About the Role
GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria. Primary Mental Health Nurses employed by GEO Healthcare work to deliver high quality Mental Health care to men in Victoria's public and private prisons.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver mental health services that enhance and promote the health of people in prison through evidenced-based, comprehensive, and professional nursing care within a prison setting.
* Assist in the prevention and management of people in prison who are at risk of self-harm or suicide.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* Professional qualifications in Mental Health; a minimum of 12 months experience working in mental health over the previous 3 years; and the ability to work unsupervised in the delivery of primary mental health services.
* Valid Australian driver's licence.
* Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
