Aboriginal applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.Primary Objective: Provide high-level support in developing and updating the Strategic Asset Management Plans for each NTG Agency by liaising with the agencies to understand their strategic objectives and organisational risks, and translating these into the development of asset management objectives, strategies, and plans.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesActively engage with and provide expert advice to individual agencies to understand their asset management needs in respect to how their assets support their organisational objectives and service delivery requirements.Provide high-level support to the Director in developing a Strategic Asset Management Plan for each NTG agency.Ensure currency of information on agency and whole of government strategies and objectives as relevant to asset management.Contribute to the SAM continuous improvement program by regularly reviewing processes, strategies, and plans to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiencies and outcomes.Develop and foster highly effective and collaborative partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Prepare high-level reports, recommendations, and submissions.Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective reporting systems for all areas of responsibility.Assist in establishing a greater appreciation of the value in investing in asset management across all areas of the department and other Agencies.Selection CriteriaEssentialFundamental understanding of asset management principles and how assets need to support the business objectives of the asset owner.Proven ability to translate organisational objectives and risks into the development of strategic plans for managing an organisation’s assets.Experience and demonstrated skills in risk management and strategic planning.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare well-articulated reports, strategic plans, and presentations for senior-level audiences.Good understanding of Government services and the role that built assets play in government being able to deliver services to the community.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with and build collaborative relationships and strategic alliances with a diverse range of stakeholders.Proven knowledge and experience in project management.DesirableTertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Strategic Planning, or another relevant field.Good knowledge of and experience in asset management including the requirements of ISO 55001.
