The Role
In the role of Senior Engineer (Civil) you will project manage the delivery of multiple road infrastructure projects through the provision of technical expertise and the administration of contracts and support to the design, construction and maintenance processes.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
• Undertake tendering and estimating activities to support the effective development and delivery of road infrastructure projects.
• Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
• Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure
projects.
• Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to in order to facilitate the delivery of road projects to a high and consistent standard for both Transport and Main Roads and clients.
• Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
• In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
• Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will required to be completed.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
