About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists within the Financial Services unit for an experienced, hands on Accounts Operations Team Leader to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations of the council, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounts operations processes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead end to end processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
* Lead, coach and develop the accounts operations team.
* Develop procedure and guidance notes, deliver training and work with stakeholders to improve their knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable policy, processes and systems.
* Implement best practice processes and systems to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable and accounts receivable function.
* Contribute to the operations of the Financial Services unit by supporting year end activities as assigned by the Financial Accounting Coordinator and Chief Financial Officer.
Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience in leading a high-volume accounts payable function in a complex medium to large organisation.
* Experience in accounts receivable function.
* Demonstrated commitment to providing superior customer service.
* Ability to manage time, set priorities and achieve positive results
* Ability to produce work in a timely and accurate manner
* Highly developed computer skills
* Continually improving accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
