Reporting to the Health, Safety, Environment and Community Manager, the purpose of the role is to provide support to the site based operational and functional teams on environmental management aspects to enable adherence to the global environment standard, legal compliance and risk mitigation and delivery of the functional business plan and improvement projects.
You will also be responsible for:
1. Providing specialist support on environmental management aspects to the operational team/s to support compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental approvals and internal company standards
2. Providing input into the (site-based) risk identification and assessment process, including design control principles and supporting documentation
3. Maintaining site based plans/procedures/work instructions relevant to the function
4. Planning and executing work to meet environmental regulatory commitments and internal requirements
5. Planning and executing environmental regulatory and internal reporting requirements relevant to the operation
6. Identify and implement improvement projects that support compliance with regulatory or internal standard requirements, and/or enable a more efficient delivery of functional support to the operation.

You will have:
7. Bachelor’s degree in Science and/or Environmental Engineering (ideally)
8. Detailed understanding of local regulatory requirements and environmental licencing arrangements
9. Strong Excel skills
10. Sound understanding of environmental management processes and technologies
11. Some previous experience in a similar industry, such as mining or heavy industry
12. Previous experience developing and maintaining sound working relationships with external stakeholders such as regulators and community groups
13. Capable of working with minimal supervision and able to self-manage priorities
14. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business needs and circumstances
15. Excellent skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning, communicating and organising
