Job Description:
We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to support the Rocket Motor Firing Facility managed by Weapons Propulsion Group at Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group).
The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance and improvement of the instrumentation infrastructure, as well as participate in explosive ordnance trials. This will involve working closely with firing site personnel and occasionally handling explosive ordnance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Electronic (70%): Assist firing site personnel with general maintenance and improvement of the instrumentation infrastructure.
* Mechanical (30%): Participate in the preparation and conduct of on-site and off-site explosive ordnance (EO) trials as required.
* Monitoring, coordinating and escorting of maintenance contractors within the firing site.
* Other support activities as required by Task Leader or Group Leader Weapons Propulsion.
Requirements:
* Educated in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
* Demonstrable knowledge and/or experience in circuit design and fabrication (including proficiency in soldering, prototyping, PCB loading, cable manufacture and connector termination).
* Solid mechanical aptitude.
* Self-motivated and able to work well in a small team environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
* Current driver's licence.
* Australian Citizenship for Security Clearance purposes.
