About the Role
As the Contract Director, you will be a key contributor to delivering complex capital works projects on behalf of the department and other agencies that deliver positive economic and social outcomes. You will fulfil all aspects of the role of Contract Director (Principal's Representative, Superintendent) for major capital works projects delivered through both single stage and two-stage contracts types such as the department's managing contractor contracts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Manage and administer the conditions of contract for major capital works projects delivered through non-traditional contacts.
* Provide leadership and management for the administering of contracts on capital programs and projects, working with the program and project teams, including consultants and/or multi-disciplinary teams engaged to assist with the programs/projects, to ensure that risks are effectively managed, key program and project milestones are achieved and outputs are in accordance with endorsed plans for time, scope, quality, cost and safety.
* Investigate, resolve and settle contract claims, variations and disputes arising from the delivery of major capital works projects.
* Provide high-level expert advice on building industry matters, affecting the delivery and construction of large and complex capital works projects.
* Liaise with client and departmental representatives to administer contract requirements
* Establish and manage program and project governance arrangements pertaining to the administration of the contract, in line with the overarching project governance for the delivery of all project and program stages
* Collaborate effectively across government to maximise benefits for Queensland.
