The Opportunity In line with our strategic plan to grow our leading financial regulation practice in Australia and globally, this has created an opportunity for us to recruit talented lawyers/senior associates into our team. Our practice covers all segments of the financial services sector across banking, insurance and funds management, including the institutional and retail sectors. Our clients include Australia's major financial institutions and many of the leading global institutions. The Australian team forms part of Ashurst's global financial regulation practice, with partners and lawyers located in the world's leading financial centres. The team is highly cohesive and collaborative and works very closely with other teams such as Corporate, Disputes and Finance, and with our Ashurst Risk Advisory consulting business. We are open for the location of this role to be based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office. Post qualification legal experience in financial services regulatory work within private practice, at a regulatory or market infrastructure provider or with a reputable international law firm overseas. Experience with regulated markets, payments and consumer credit, digital assets, and AML/CTF is highly desirable. Excellent academic track record. Enthusiasm for intellectually stimulating cross-border work. Excellent client relationship skills and experience of business development, and a keen interest keeping on top of developments in this challenging practice area.
