About the Tasmanian State Service
The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
The Palliative Care In Service is an inpatient ward area with four beds located in the MCH, part of the broader Specialist Palliative Care Service based at Parkside in Burnie.
The Role:
o We are seeking a motivated Registrar – Palliative Care. You will be responsible for liaising and collaborating with other treating clinicians for both public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital, Aged Care, and Community settings.
o The Tasmanian Health Service (THS) – North West Region is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our community in Tasmania’s beautiful North West.
o The Rural Generalist Palliative Care Registrar position is accredited by the GP colleges and Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
o ACRRM - 12 months Advanced Specialised Training term in Palliative Care to train registrars on all ACRRM pathways.
o RACGP - 6 months Extended Skills training and 12 months Advanced Skills training.
o RACP - accreditation for Foundations in Palliative Medicine.
o THS – North West Region has a close working relationship with the University of Tasmania’s Rural Clinical School.
Details of appointment:
Multiple, Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 May 2025 until 1 February 2026. You will receive 10 hours of paid, protected training time per fortnight, pro rata.
Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $134,930- $189,005 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
1. General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
2. Enrolled in the relevant speciality training program
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.
