Pay Rate: VPS4 - $60.82ph + super
About the Role:
Work for this key Government Agency as a Health and Safety Advisor!
Our Government Agency Client are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.
You will work closely with key stakeholders to inspire and empower everyone in the organisation to take accountability for health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Health & Safety Lead in delivering strategic objectives and promoting continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
2. Drive effective communication strategies to foster open and honest safety conversations.
3. Coordinate and implement health and safety initiatives, projects, and programs.
4. Build strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards.
6. Implement major safety-related projects to support a positive safety culture.
7. Support business units in leading and managing an effective contractor management system.
8. Participate in tendering/procurement processes, contractor on boarding, and safety performance assessments.
9. Identify and manage critical risks through strategic risk management planning.
10. Participate in incident investigations and ensure timely communication and implementation of safety learning's.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
11. Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a proven track record of positive outcomes.
12. Passion for health and safety and improving safety culture.
13. Strong leadership experience to inspire and motivate stakeholders.
14. Proficiency in data analytics and trend identification to improve safety performance.
15. Knowledge of change management principles (desirable).
16. Continuous improvement mindset and ability to influence change.
17. Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and safety or related discipline.
18. Experience in civil construction safety, plant, and process safety in large, complex organisations.
19. Qualifications in auditing, ISO 45001, or incident investigation (ICAM) are advantageous.
20. Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (desirable).
21. Experience in industrial operations such as gas, sewer, water, roads, electrical transmission construction, or maintenance (highly desirable).
22. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
23. Strong presentation and facilitation skills (desirable).
24. Experience in writing operational safety procedures and management system documentation.
25. Knowledge of safety legal obligations, codes of practice, and standards.
26. Experience in conducting audits, implementing corrective actions, and completing incident investigations.
Candidates must have a valid Police Check or willing to obtain one.
