Job no: 492918 Work type: full-time Location: Canberra Categories: Information Services Network Engineer $120,188 - $140,170 + 15.4% super Canberra based AMSA Level 6 ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure & Operations this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network and security infrastructure within AMSA. You will be responsible for: Design and Implementation: Creating detailed designs and network diagrams, installing and configuring network hardware and software (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls). Maintenance and Upgrades: Performing regular network maintenance, including updates and patches. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring network performance, ensuring system availability and reliability, and troubleshooting issues. Security: Implementing security measures to protect network data. Documentation: Document network configurations, processes, and procedures. Support: Provide Level-2/3 support and training to other team members internally and externally Commit: to the AMSA Code of Conduct and Values SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience: Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and experience in Fortinet Certified Professional Network Security (FCP) are highly desirable Demonstrated ability to produce and communicate clear and intelligible system designs Demonstrated ability to implement and create best-practice network\security designs & architecture Demonstrated capability to communicate/lead/influence new development initiatives Strong skills in Switching and routing Network security Network redesign and network cloud tooling and principles Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, BGP, OSPF), hands-on experience with network diagnostic and analytics tools, and strong troubleshooting skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team as required Demonstrated ability to provide training to internal and external staff For more information about this role, please refer to the position description.
