Project Overview
Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are collaborating to design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (South Civil) package as part of the Ontario Transit Group.
Major works are scheduled to commence in 2023, with an anticipated completion date of 2030. The project is expected to create an estimated 1,500 jobs at its peak during construction.
Tunneling Works
The project entails a six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal, situated west of the Don River.
Stations
The following stations will be constructed:
* One above-ground station integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station
* Two underground stations integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations
* Four new underground stations: King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, and Corktown
Job Description:
The Station Design Coordinator will report to the Station Design Manager and perform the following duties:
1. Review shop drawings prepared by Subcontractor's Designers, ensuring compliance with Project Specifications and local standards, including constructability and interface with other designers
2. Coordinate with the construction & methods team to provide reviews and comments in a timely manner
3. Assist in preparing forecasts of shop drawing reviews by Designers
4. Track progress of shop drawing reviews, RFI/NCR responses, and modifications tables during construction
5. Provide necessary inputs to track Designer's cost based on time and material during ESDC
6. Coordinate and interface with other teams within the Design Team and other departments addressing potential conflicts
7. Identify changes from the design (CD stage) with quantity variations for Design Manager review and proposal to the Project Management
8. Other duties as applicable
Requirements
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
* Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
* Experience in detailed design of building and civil infrastructure projects (plan production and specifications)
* Sound knowledge of building design and previous experience working in design teams or external consultants required
* Knowledge and experience with Autodesk software (Civil 3D, Autocad, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM360), and other common software in transportation engineering
