An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and results-oriented Construction Defects Manager to join a growing team in a leading organisation within the disability housing sector. This role offers the chance to contribute to the delivery of high-quality residential properties by managing and resolving construction defects across a variety of locations. Key Responsibilities:
Defect Identification & Assessment: Conduct in-depth inspections of residential construction projects to identify potential defects, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and aesthetic issues.
Coordination & Project Management: Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure repairs are completed within budget and deadlines.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all defect resolutions adhere to local, state, and federal building codes. Maintain thorough documentation and prepare regular reports.
Quality Control & Risk Management: Implement quality control measures to prevent future defects and guide project teams on risk mitigation strategies.
Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the key point of contact for clients or property owners regarding construction defects, ensuring effective communication and customer satisfaction. Skills & Experience: At least 5 years of experience in construction management, defect resolution, or a related field. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques, particularly related to defect identification and resolution. Proficient in project management tools (Procore, Microsoft Project, Monday.com) and Microsoft Office Suite. Solid communication and negotiation skills to manage multiple stakeholders effectively. Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and legal considerations related to construction defects. A background in construction, engineering, or architecture is highly desirable.
