With our landmark development underway and significant opportunities to transform our operations emerging, there's never been a better time to join the Sydney Fish Market team.The Hook:The HSE Officer will provide advice, guidance and expertise, training and practical assistance regarding HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) compliance and obligations. Co-ordinate the ongoing development and implementation of the ISO 45001/14001 Health, Safety and Environment management system to prevent environmental harm; and to protect the health, safety and welfare of employees and customers of SFM in accordance with legislation. The HSE Officer will support the transition to our new Sydney Fish Market.Job duties include but are not limited to:Promote a positive HSE culture that encourages continuous staff improvement and compliance to achieve HSE outcomesDevelop, implement, maintain and review the HSE management system and QMS filesUndertake internal HSE audits and inspections, create action logs and routine reviewsDevelop and undertake toolbox talks with employeesReview and ensure employee compliance with HSE training programs (e.g., fire warden, first aid, spill response, other risk-based training)Conduct risk assessments, SOP’s and safe systems of work for SFM operationsUndertake accident and incident investigation of employees and customersAssist in the maintenance and monitoring of HSE objectives, targets and KPI’sKeep up to date with changes to HSE legal obligations and standardsAct as a committee member and technical advisor on the Health, Safety and Environment CommitteesFacilitate and ensure effective internal communication and consultative systems are established, maintained and implemented.Represent SFM in an informed manner showing the highest level of customer service to visitors and internal and external customersPerform ad hoc requests and other duties as you are qualified and suitably trained to undertakeComply with the Company’s QHSE policies and programs.
