Immediate Start - Global Retail Org. - Financial & Management Accounting - Business Partnering with Operations - Inventory Accounting Exp. Required About the role A business critical role with a global FMCG / Retail organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Senior Financial Accountants' position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities on both a domestic and international scale. Initially this will be a 4 month contract role, however there is the genuine view for this role to be extended and/or made permanent (given a permanent headcount is available). The responsibilities Reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); Ownership for the accuracy and integrity of GL reconciliations across the balance sheet and profit & loss Responsible for month-end and year-end tasks, pre and post to the preparation of month end management reporting and analysis. Partner with the assigned business unit to provide cost insights through financial analysis, project financial tracking and periodic financial reports and drive improvements. Indirectly and on-the-job, provide guidance and advice to a team of 3 staff Provide guidance on financial processes, procedures and maintain internal controls; focus on supporting Operations function including warehouses, logistic and inventory management activities Provide analysis, insights and recommendations to CFO and Financial Controller on actual operating performance including variances, overheads spend to budget / variance Drives continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and robust internal control Lead ad-hoc projects as directed by the CFO and Financial Controller The successful applicant will have Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail, proven inventory accounting experience & knowledge, and have worked in a large-scale, dynamic FMCG / Retail organisation previously.
