About the Role: Join our team as a Child Life Therapist on a part time (60.8 hrs per fortnight) ongoing to work at Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton.
You will be responsible for providing expert, evidence-based clinical care and leadership within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
The role requires independent decision-making within the approved scope of practice, supporting high-quality consumer-centred care.
This position also involves mentoring and supporting other clinicians, driving best practices, and optimising digital health technologies to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Independent Clinical Practice – Deliver safe and evidence-based assessment and interventions to ensure optimal patient care.
Expert Consultation & Support – Provide specialised guidance and secondary consultations to other clinicians.
Team Leadership & Collaboration – Oversee and support clinical teams, working alongside multidisciplinary professionals to enhance patient management.
Workload & Resource Management – Lead the utilisation of tools and systems to ensure fair workload distribution and timely access to care.
Policy & Digital Health Innovation – Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and digital health strategies to improve clinical practices.
Training & Professional Development – Lead professional development programs, mentor clinicians, and influence clinical education strategies.
Additional Requirements Travel may be required across multiple sites to provide support and oversee clinical operations.
Must adhere to Monash Health's procedures, policies, and escalation protocols.

Monash Children's Hospital provides a Child Life Therapy service across all areas of paediatrics, including paediatric emergency, diagnostic imagining, pathology and acute inpatients.
About You: To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: Demonstrated extensive specialised experience using developmentally appropriate approaches and evidence-based interventions that may be used to reduce the stress and anxiety in children that can be associated with hospitalisation and medical procedures Normally at least 10 years' experience in Child Life Therapy service provision.
