This position is classified in accordance with the Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Religious Institute Schools Queensland 2023 – 2026.
The Careers Counsellor will assist students to prepare for the world of work, linking career and subject choice to independent learning.
They will coordinate Career Education and provide career advice for all students at the College.
The Careers Counsellor plays a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of the College Senior Education and Training Plan (SET-P) program.
They will also provide guidance around Higher Education, training and employment options for all students.
The Careers Counsellor must also be cognisant of change and emerging trends in post schooling education and employment.

Be committed to the goals, ethos and mission of the College as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition.Be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers, if appointed as Career Counsellor/Career Advisor (Teacher).Professional qualifications in Education if appointed as Career Counsellor/Career Advisor (Teacher).Possess a current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card for paid employees before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government, if appointed as a Counsellor (without Teacher Qualifications).Graduate Certificate or equivalent and appropriate and recognised qualification in the field of career development as outlined in the Professional Standards for Career Development Practitioners.Demonstrated experience in a similar role.About our Organisation Ignatius Park College is an all-boys Independent Catholic secondary school located in Townsville, North Queensland catering for approximately 950 boys from Years 7-12.
