An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Anaesthetist (JCCA or DRA) to join the medical team at South East Regional Hospital in the Bega Valley, part of the Southern NSW - Coastal Network.

Bega - 429 kilometres south of Sydney, 228 kilometres from Canberra or 174 kilometres from the NSW Snow fields. Nearby Merimbula (32 kilometres) offers a regional airport with a short 55 minute flight to Sydney and daily flights to Melbourne. With a range of quality private and public schools in the area, younger generations are also be well looked after, growing up with fantastic friendly country folk, and a huge range of outdoor activities to keep them occupied with no long commutes.

* Provide contemporary comprehensive GP Anaesthetic services for optimal patient outcomes.
* Provide and support training to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
* Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.
* Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care.
* Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices.
* Comply with relevant legislation and regulations, NSW Ministry of Health policies and SNSWLHD procedures to assist in meeting Activity Based Funding, Commonwealth and State targets.
* Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Evidence of accreditation with the Joint Consultative Committee Anaesthesia (Australia) or the Diploma of Rural Anaesthetics t ogether with a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, or Fellowship of Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, or specialist qualifications deemed equivalent.
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in GP Anaesthesia.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff; and effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
