Job Duties/Essential Functions
* Cake Order Preparation: Inspect the cake order stand for special requests.
* Daily Production Planning: Review the production schedule to determine daily needs and retrieve stock from freezers or coolers to replenish merchandising areas.
* Bakery Product Preparation: Remove products from pans, garnish and package baked cheesecakes, seasonal pies, and cakes according to assembly instructions in the Cake Decorating Manual.
* Product Display and Storage: Place finished products on racks and transfer them to coolers, freezers, or wrapping areas.
* Decorating Area Maintenance: Ensure the decorating area remains clean and clear of debris.
* Date and Labeling Compliance: Verify that products are labeled with the correct date.
* Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to Bakery Department, safety, and security procedures and standards.
* Cleaning and Sanitation Procedures: Follow Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
* Quality Assurance and Food Safety: Complete and comply with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all required safety training.
* Additional Responsibilities: Assist with other bakery duties as needed.
* Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.
You will also be operating various pieces of equipment such as ovens, slicing machines, calculators, wrappers, scales, pan dollies, apricot glazers, cake scorers, spatulas, cake stamps, icing bags, tips, commercial dishwashers, knives, labellers, and mixers.
Qualifications
* Education: School Certificate or relevant apprenticeship (Trade Certificate).
* Licenses/Certifications: None.
* Skills and Abilities: Cake decorating experience or comparable skills; basic math skills.
