Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)Full timeTechno Plas has over 35 years of industry leading experience in production innovation and advanced manufacturing of high-quality laboratory, medical and food packaging injection moulded products.As a result of restructuring to support significant business growth, we are seeking an Operations Manager, based in our Adelaide facility, reporting to the Head of Operations. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising daily manufacturing, logistics and warehousing operations to drive the efficient, effective and safe manufacturing and delivery of high-quality plastic injection moulded products.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of daily production operations across multiple production lines in line with quality, cost, and safety standards and objectives.Lead the recruitment, resource planning/scheduling and associated shift rosters to meet production activity requirements whilst optimising labour efficiencies.Lead, mentor and develop the operations team and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability across all levels of the operations team.Manage logistics operations and service agreements with logistics providers to ensure the timely delivery of products to customers in line with budgeted costs.Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to implement and monitor quality assurance and inspection protocols, including production process control and related procedures, product packing procedures, and final product inspections.Responsible for the smooth operational integration of new products, equipment and production processes.Work with the QHSE Manager to investigate the root causes of quality deviations and safety incidents and identify and implement correction actions to prevent recurrence.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant safety standards, regulations and company policies and procedures, and proactively addressing any safety concerns via regular safety meetings and training.Monitor and assess production metrics such as throughput, capacity utilisation, process yield and defect rates.Qualifications and ExperienceDemonstratable experience in an operations management/leadership role in a high volume manufacturing environment, ideally in the plastic injection moulding, laboratory/medical consumables or food industry.Proven track record of leading and managing a manufacturing team, optimising production processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.Understanding of quality management systems (eg ISO 9001), regulatory compliance (eg GMP, TGA) and workplace health and food safety systems (eg HACCP).Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, high level of attention to detail and ability to identify opportunities and drive change autonomously.Understanding of and experience with plastic injection moulding processes is a distinct advantage.Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, manufacturing, operations management highly desirable.Certification in Lean Six Sigma advantageous.
