The team is responsible for maintaining a strong brand identity, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring consistent and effective communication across multiple channels.Working closely with senior leadership, operational teams, and external partners, the department oversees media relations, corporate communications, internal messaging, and digital content strategy. By fostering clear, transparent, and engaging communication, the team supports business objectives, enhances the company’s reputation, and strengthens connections with employees, clients, and the wider community.JOB OBJECTIVEAs the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance MJ Quinn’s brand presence and ensure clear, consistent messaging both internally and externally. You will oversee all communications activities, including public relations, media relations, internal communications, and digital content management.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans that align with MJ Quinn’s purpose and values.Public Relations: Manage media relations, including drafting press releases.Internal Communications: Ensure effective communication within the organisation by creating and distributing internal newsletters, announcements, and updates.Digital Content Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of content for the company’s website, intranet and social media platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand guidelines.Brand Management: Maintain and enhance the company’s brand identity across all communication channels.Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication strategies to manage and mitigate potential risks to the company’s reputation.Event Coordination: Plan and execute company events.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies.People Management & Leadership: Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing team members, with the ability to provide clear direction, support professional growth, and foster a collaborative working environment.Skills & Experience:Proven experience in a communications role, preferably within a multi-site, multi-discipline organisation.Ability to develop and implement communication strategies that align with business objectives.Strong experience in managing both internal and external communications, ensuring clear, consistent messaging.Experience in handling media relations, writing press releases, and managing crisis communications.Excellent copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.Strong organisational abilities.Proficiency in content creation and management across digital platforms, including websites, social media, and intranet systems.Familiarity with design and multimedia tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, leadership, and external partners.Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in maintaining and enhancing a company’s brand identity and tone of voice.Capability to organise corporate events and employee engagement initiatives.Experience in managing, mentoring, and developing team members.Willingness to travel between sites and attend events as required.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSEssentialBachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.DesirableIPR Professional PR Diploma or CIPR Internal Communication Diploma.PR and Communications Management Certifications.Advanced Diploma in Internal Communication.Digital marketing certifications, such as Google Analytics, HubSpot Content Marketing, or Hootsuite Social Media Management.Graphic design or multimedia training, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or video editing tools, to support content creation.DIVERSITY STATEMENTMJ Quinn is committed to promoting an environment that values diversity.
