Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or Process Engineering.• Chartered Engineer status (e.g. IET EUR Ing PEng) is an asset.• 6-8 years of experience in the power generation industry, especially Thermosolar.• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) power plants.Roles and Responsibilities:• Interface with senior management to define project scope and present technical recommendations.• Plan and execute the process design for various power-related projects.• Lead a multidiscipline team for the development of conceptual design and estimates.• Create equipment specifications, evaluate vendor bid packages, and participate in equipment purchase negotiations.• Understand the power plant process and help define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals, safety, reliability, and improvement efforts.• Provide engineering expertise to optimize process systems and implement cost reduction opportunities.• Perform design checking and reviews.• Perform field evaluations and troubleshooting.Skills:• Proficient in Matlab/Simulink and exposure to one of the following 1D/3D simulation tools (e.g. GT, STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, etc.).• Proficient in Process Simulation Packages such as Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, Thermoflex, PRO II.• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).• Exceptional communication skills and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, diverse environment.• Ability to prioritize actions and work within a diverse team.• Project management skills and planning and organizing skills.• Field engineering experience including startup and commissioning.• Working knowledge of processes including steam systems, compressed air systems, boiler and chiller plants, and power generation.
