OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To work with a team of staff and sub-contractors to ensure both inbound and outbound freight travels on time and linehaul and PUD loading/unloading are completed in a timely manner whilst ensuring safety is always maintained.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost efficient and effective allocation of labour and equipment to achieve the daily work requirements.
Ensure the workplace is safe and free from hazards and that all activities comply with State and Federal legislation, Occupational Health & Safety, Dangerous Good Policies, Environmental and Global Express procedures and policies.
To ensure the handling of Dangerous Goods is carried out in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Code.
Keep the Branch Manager fully informed of all developments.
Encourage staff to put forward suggestions that could be beneficial to the Company’s profitability, image or welfare by conducting regular meetings.
To ensure that all loading/unloading and equipment records comply with the relevant guidelines.
To manage and maintain the CHEP pallet agency.
Control and monitor the maintenance schedule for the PUD fleet.
