This research involves investigating the efficacy of factors affecting corrosion rate of existing sewer pipe networks such as waste constituents, retention time, flow velocity and soil type. The methodology should involve collation of existing data through sensors and sewer robots, utilisation of spatial GIS datasets, development of machine learning strategies, modelling of sewer network and integration of analysis outputs to suit the industry partner’s requirements. This project has the potential to improve sewer network longevity, predict risk consequences against reduced serviceability and reduce detrimental impacts on the environment, businesses and human health.QualificationsThe selection of applicants for the award of higher degree research scholarships at Griffith University involves consideration of your academic merit and research background.
