THE ROLE
Reporting to an Account Manager – Beauty and Personal Care, the Inside Sales/Sales Support role will manage an assigned group of customers to achieve & exceed a designated sales Gross Profit Target as well as provide Sales Support to the Account Manager on specific assigned key accounts. This is a permanent, fulltime role, with hybrid working conditions, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Location: Multiple positions in Orchard Hills, Sydney and Mulgrave in Melbourne.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Directly manage Tier 3 customers to maintain current relationships, expand the sales portfolio, and achieve Gross Profit Sales targets.
* Develop and implement customer account strategies that align with both current and future customer needs.
* Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and customer accounts.
* Handle new material requests, pricing, and quotations.
* Support the customer service team with new inquiries and requests.
* Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction with products and service levels.
* Actively promote new product lines as they become available.
* Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints effectively.
* Support the Credit Department with credit applications, setting credit limits for both new and existing customers, and providing insights on potential doubtful debts.
* Review and manage margins for all transactions within your customer base.
* Contribute to budget and business plan development, inventory management, and tracking movements.
* Keep all customer data up-to-date in the company’s CRM (Salesforce) and consistently meet call plan targets (customer call reports).
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this role, you should have:
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or extensive industry experience.
* 2-5 years of experience in Inside Sales or a similar role, preferably in raw chemical products.
* Medium to high proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to ERP systems; familiarity with JD Edwards is a plus, but not required.
* Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations and implement effective solutions.
* Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels within the organization and externally.
* A can-do attitude with the initiative to support the wider team and work independently when required.
* Strong customer service skills and attention to detail, with a focus on meeting customer needs.
* Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and understand profit margins.
* Resilience, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
* A strong team player mindset, supporting colleagues as needed to ensure collective success.
* Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Excel; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar programs is an advantage.
* Familiarity with incoterms, shipping, and logistics procedures.
* A customer-focused mindset with flexibility to meet deadlines and drive improvements.
