Orthoptist Level 1/2, Temporary Part-Time up to 16 hours - Sydney & Sydney Eye Hospital About The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity exists to become part of the Orthoptic team at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital. You will be working as part of a team that is passionate about providing patients with the highest quality eye care including patients presenting to Outpatients, Eye Emergency and those admitted to hospital.
You will have the opportunity to provide orthoptic assessment and treatment to patients attending orthoptic screening and therapy clinics, as well as specialty clinics including Neuro-Ophthalmology, Strabismus, Oculo-plastics, and Paediatrics.
You will be highly involved in ophthalmic diagnostic assessment and work collaboratively with the Ophthalmologists to provide Orthoptic-led chronic eye care clinics. These include Glaucoma screening clinics, stable Glaucoma monitoring clinics, diabetic/retina screening clinics and a multidisciplinary cataract screening clinic including post-op care. Our specialist services attract patients from all over NSW. Clinical services provided are a 24hr Emergency Department, and outpatient departments (eyes, general and hands). Clinical wards include Eyes, Hands, ENT and General Medicine as well as the Peri-Operative Suite.

Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement in the provision of clinical care using evidence based practice, commensurate with years of experience. Demonstrated commitment to the use and application of professional and clinical digital technologies. Demonstrated participation or leadership in quality improvement processes and teaching, commensurate with years of experience. Ability to respond to the demands and pressures of the role while managing time effectively. Current drivers' licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
