ConnectingLearningBelongingAbout your new roleReporting to the Lived Experience Participation and Inclusion Lead, the Lived Experience Participation and Inclusion Coordinator will work across three separate, and interconnected portfolio areas: Diversity and Inclusion and Consumer Participation:Lived Experience: As a designated role, the Lived Experience Participation and Inclusion Coordinator will bring Lived Experience learnings and principles applied as their primary knowledge, complemented by excellent interpersonal engagement skills, consultation, and continuous improvement abilities.Neami is committed to providing Lived Experience-specific coaching and supervision and will collaborate with the successful applicant on this support.Diversity and Inclusion: Support Neami's whole-of-organisation approach to diversity and inclusion to shape safe, accessible, and responsive workplaces, spaces, and services.Support the development of resources and practical ways to bring to life Neami's philosophy of diversity and inclusion.Support Operations and consult on effective ways to ensure Neami is centring people, diversity of perspective, best practice, and current research to inform organisational development, activities, and processes.Support Neami's whole-of-organisation approach to consumer and carer participation.Identify, communicate and support the integration of new developments and best practice in Consumer Participation and Co-design, and operate as a resource to stimulate innovative thinking for stakeholders.Providing expertise and thought leadership to Consumer Participation capacity building initiatives.Advocate for the embedding of Lived Experience perspectives into organisational solutions, opportunities, and tenders for safety and sustainability.Support pathways for authentic Consumer and Carer voice and participation.What will Neami offer Generous leave entitlements including paid parental leave, an Accrued Day Off each month (Full time only), Gratis Leave and Wellness leaveProfessional development through regular practice development sessions and coaching with your supervisorOngoing extensive in-house Learning and Development programs to encourage learning and skill-buildingEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) through TELUS - providing holistic health and wellness supports and resources to Neami staff and their immediate familyFlexible work arrangements are available for maintaining your work-life balanceWhat you will bring to the role Personal experience of mental health challenges, service use and demonstrated ability to apply learnings as primary way of working.A deep understanding of the Lived Experience lens and experience contributing this as your primary perspective in a role, program, system, or consultation setting.Understanding of diversity and inclusion within the workplace and the impacts of intersectionality on people accessing mental health services and support.Sound knowledge of the Consumer Movement and Consumer Participation pathways/programs.Demonstrated experience in collaboration and engagement.Personal lived/living experience of recovery as a family, friend or carer.Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma.Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery.Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instill confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery.What the role requires National Criminal History Check (police check) -
