Music Teacher We are seeking an experienced, innovative and dynamic qualified Music teacher for a fulltime position commencing Term 1, 2025.The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent subject knowledge of the NESA K–12 Music syllabus documents and possess the capacity to encourage and inspire students in their love of learning in Music.Ability to teach strings would be advantageous.Position Description Position Title: Music Teacher: K – 12 classroom and Strings Specialist Responsible to: Principal Reports to: Director of Music Key Stakeholders: All internal and external stakeholders Overview: Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge of and the ability to teach: NESA K-12 Music syllabus Practical application teaching Music Experience in Primary and Secondary Music teaching Possess a passion for your subject and the capacity to encourage and inspire students in their love of Music Duties & Responsibilities: Actively support and promote the Christian ethos of Calrossy in a manner that is inclusive and sensitive to the life experiences of students, parents, and staff.At all times promote the School's Christian values in a practical and accessible way that promotes our mission to provide excellence in a Christian environment.Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Current Working with Children Check First Aid Certificate Current Driver's Licence Appropriate NSW teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation Knowledge of AITSL teaching standards Knowledge of the current K-12 Music syllabuses Experience in or preparedness to teach Stage 4, 5 & 6 Music syllabus Skills and motivation to teach in a live online environment (not applicable for this current position but may be required in the future) Demonstrated capacity to integrate technology into effective teaching and learning for modern learners including strong computer literacy skills and ability to learn new school systems Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the learning needs of a diverse student body Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, a capacity to maintain positive relationships and foster teamwork across the school body.Desirable Criteria: Teaching experience Stage 6, HSC Music Strings specialist, AMEB and or Trinity College of London qualified Teach Strings within the Instrumental Programme, Years 3 – 5 Extra-curricular Ensemble Leadership experience – Orchestra, String ensemble or Contemporary Experience or training in the Kodaly and or Orff framework Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations of a Music Teacher: Evidence of excellence in teaching Extensive knowledge of the current Music Syllabus Ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the learning needs of a diverse student body, including gifted and talented students Support of the school's Wellbeing program and student Mentor groups Follow assessment schedules as determined by the Head of Department Demonstrate enthusiasm for the subjects being taught Seek to assist each student in classes regardless of ability Be prepared to teach on both campuses, as determined by the Head of Department, Deputy Principal/Principal Play a part as a collegial member of the faculty in sharing ideas on teaching, assessment and programming Perform duties to the best of your ability and be accountable for your performance Follow reasonable instructions given by your supervisor or their delegate Participate in any in-house training programs, as well as other job specific training that is identified as required for this job description Participate and contribute to team meetings Participate in workplace change where required Comply with the School's Code of Conduct Comply with lawful directions Work, Health & Safety: In accordance with the Workplace Health & Safety Act 2021, Employees must: While at work take reasonable care for their own health and safety Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others Comply with any reasonable instruction from Calrossy Follow defined WH&S policies and procedures of the school Selection Criteria: These selection criteria will form the basis to assess applicants for short-listing and determine the successful candidate: SC1.Provide an overview of your educational background and relevant qualifications and experience.SC2.
