Aboriginal Investment NT is a corporate Commonwealth entity, having legally commenced operations in November 2022 as the Northern Territory Aboriginal Investment Corporation under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (Northern Territory) 1976, and designed in partnership with Aboriginal Territorians. Our purpose is to work with Aboriginal Territorians to achieve economic, social and cultural impact through innovative approaches to investments, beneficial payments and other financial assistance. Position Purpose: The Manager, People & Culture Role is a key strategic role within Aboriginal Investment NT, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The role is central to fostering a positive, inclusive, and dynamic workplace environment. This role involves steering the organization’s strategies related to human resources, including talent acquisition, development, and retention, alongside shaping the organisation's culture to align with its mission and values. With a focus on enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction, the Manager, People & Culture helps to ensure that the workforce remains motivated and productive. Additionally, this position plays a significant role in implementing policies and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace. Through their leadership, the Manager, People and Culture ensures the organization not only attracts but also nurtures and retains top talent, thereby supporting the organisation’s overall growth and success.Key responsibilities include:
Development of an overarching People & Culture strategy for the organisation to support its five-year Strategic Investment Plan.
Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for managing and enhancing organizational culture, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent, ensuring a smooth integration of new employees into the organisation.
Design and oversee employee development programs, including leadership training, professional growth opportunities, and performance management systems to support career advancement and skill enhancement.
Manage employee relations, acting as a mediator in conflict resolution, addressing grievances, and fostering a positive work environment that encourages open communication and collaboration.
Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the organisation's financial objectives and employee satisfaction goals.
Oversee continuous improvement of the organisation’s technology solutions to support the People & Culture strategy, including, payroll, employee records and training systems.
Maintain diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, promoting a workplace that values and respects differences and encourages contributions from all employees.
Coordinate with the senior executive to assess organisational structure and staffing needs, making recommendations for restructuring or role adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness..
