About the vacancy
Adelaide Festival Centre is looking for a Productionprofessional to lead the Lighting Department.
Reporting to the Head of Technical and Production, the Head ofDepartment - Lighting will be responsible for effectively andefficiently managing the Lighting Department to an exceptionalstandard by providing comprehensive and responsive customer serviceto internal and external key stakeholders. This role is accountablefor ensuring the appropriate management and delivery of staff andequipment to support Adelaide Festival Centre’s annual seasonof festivals and venue hire productions, and managing the purchaseand maintenance of lighting equipment for four busy venues.
Relevant qualifications in management or technical theatre andprevious experience in a similar role will be looked uponfavourably.
This role is available in a full-time capacity for a period ofthree years.

Responsibilities
4. Manage lighting department operations by meeting and negotiating with external hirers needs;
5. Act as liaison with internal and external customers and provide cost effective technical advice and design solutions;
6. Develop weekly rosters adhering to all legal work health and safety and Enterprise Agreement requirements;
7. Assist the Production Coordinators with technical advice;
8. Identify training needs in the department and provide advice and guidance;
9. Conduct performance reviews with staff ;
10. Develop maintenance schedules to ensure all plant and equipment are in reasonable working order;
11. Attend all production meetings as the representative of the department.

12. Demonstrated leadership experience;
13. Rostering experience within a large arts organisation;
14. Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, communications and interpersonal skills;
15. Ability to establish and maintain productive professional working relationships;
16. Outstanding organisational and planning skills and ability to meet deadlines;
17. Project management skills;
18. Advanced computing skills including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook; CAD, WYSIWYG or similar computer drawing software;
