The Opportunity:
The Project Engineer is responsible in assisting the Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.
This role will be based full time onsite @ Airport Terminal - Badgerys Creek.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery
* Monitors and controls subcontractors performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is performed in accordance with the specifications
* Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to guarantee quality procedures are integrated
* Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority
* Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action
* Adhere to safety plan for project and communicates it to project team members including suppliers and subcontractors
* Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements
* Continually assesses the project for high risk activities and hazards and in conjunction with appropriate personnel recommends measures to control those hazards and associated risks
* Demonstrates an understanding of the process of incident prevention and incident reporting
* Assists with the expeditious resolution of safety issues as directed by the Senior Project Engineer & Site Supervisor
* Participates in the preparation of safe Work Method Statements in consultation with the work group carrying the proposed activity
* Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved
* Develop and monitor implementation of construction methods including audits
* Accountable for documentation flow between Engineers, Site Supervisors, Consultants, Subcontractors and the Project ensuring that all parties are working from current documentation
* Maintains and monitors the progress of work and advises the Senior Project Engineer of significant changes and proposed remedial action
* Forecasts the number of labour hours for scope of works and monitor daily costs against planned
* Maintain 4 week look ahead of program
* Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
* Prepare project status reports and change orders
* Manages cost control for certain aspects of the project in order to ensure the project meets its performance targets in relation to budget/forecast
* Assists and prepares monthly financial reports as required for the project
* Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external shareholders on all matters relating to the construction activities
* Lead, motivates and mentors site personnel to foster positive team dynamics, staff moral and work outcomes
* Works closely and ensures Site Engineers are supported and performing as required
Criteria:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Civil, Structural) or Project Management
* 3+ years experience minimum within the Construction industry post-graduation
* Previous exposure to FPR & structures - mandatory
