The Opportunity
Mutual Trust is seeking an Assistant Payroll / Corporate Accountant to manage and deliver key payroll functions while supporting our financial reporting processes. This role will be central to implementing Dayforce payroll system, transitioning from Preceda. You’ll be working closely with the Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance with legislation and continuous improvement of payroll systems.
What You’ll Do
* Process payroll monthly in compliance with internal procedures and legislative requirements.
* Manage payroll-related reporting, including leave reconciliation, payroll tax and year-end reporting.
* Support financial reporting, including staff budget preparation, payroll-related invoicing and audit queries.
* Key point of contact for our Tech team, for the end-to-end management of the Dayforce payroll system implementation.
* Assist with payroll compliance across multiple states, covering WorkCover and payroll tax obligations.
* Respond to payroll queries from internal and external stakeholders.
About You
* Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce.
* Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, with payroll processing experience essential.
* Experience with payroll system implementations, ideally Dayforce or Preceda.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Proficiency with Xero or other cloud-based accounting systems.
* IT proficiency, particularly in Excel for managing payroll data.
