Branch: Brisbane Infrastructure, City Projects Office Personnel Area: Project Management Duration: Contract – 4 years About the Position Brisbane City Council's City Projects Office (CPO) is seeking a strategic professional to join its senior leadership team as Program Director, Civil and Transport. This key role offers the opportunity to shape Brisbane's future by driving the planning and delivery of civil and transport infrastructure projects that enhance community connectivity and liveability, through partnering with our strategic program areas. As Program Director, you will lead the delivery of critical infrastructure projects, including roadworks, transport corridors, intersections, bikeways, and bridges, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and compliance standards. Collaboration is central to this role, requiring strong partnerships with program partners, asset owners, consultants, government agencies, and internal branches within the City Projects Office, including Community and Stakeholder Engagement, Technical Design, and Project Controls, to optimise planning, delivery, and risk management processes. You will focus on building and motivating a high-performing team, fostering workforce capability, promoting retention, and ensuring safety and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety standards. To be considered, you must have the following: Extensive experience in delivering civil and transport infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and transport corridors (project management, planning and technical, stakeholder management, quality, risk and financial) Proven leadership experience in a large-scale civil and transport business Proven ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams Strong skills in forward planning, innovation, and achieving fit-for-purpose outcomes Expertise in stakeholder engagement and building cross-sector partnerships Successful delivery of projects within scope, timeframes, budgets, and compliance standards Track record in process improvement and driving efficiencies Experience in promoting safety and environmental compliance Proven ability to build high-performance teams and manage workforce planning Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Transport Engineering Professional membership with AIPM or Engineers Australia AIPM Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) or eligibility to achieve CPPD within 12 months.
