About the Tasmanian State Service:
The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.
The Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Governance Unit, Clinical Nurse Consultant – Deterioration and Resuscitation (NMCGU CNC-D&R) works within Hospitals South Nursing and Midwifery Services to provide clinical governance support to nurses and midwives in the recognition and management of the deteriorating patient.
The Role:
The NMCGU CNC-D&R has responsibility for data reporting and resource management activities relevant to the progress strategies to assist in the care of the deteriorating patient and nursing and midwifery sensitive indicators across Hospitals South. The position works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams including nursing and midwifery, allied health and medical education units, senior executive and clinical stream leadership, direct care clinicians, patients, and consumers, demonstrating a commitment to support knowledge and professional practice and improve patient outcomes in recognising and preventing clinical deterioration.
You will need:
* Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise with an awareness and understanding of contemporary health service delivery that ensures optimal patient care/outcomes, and the ability to share information with others, assisting them to adapt to change.
* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NMSI’s, the NSQHS, Clinical Care and Professional Standards, and other relevant health service legislation and clinical governance systems and processes, and how these impact on the delivery of patient care services.
* Demonstrated experience and ability to guide and motivate a multidisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement and clinical risk management activities to facilitate the application of Department, Health Service and NM strategic priorities that support professional, operational and organisational sustainability with a culture of accountability and transparency in achieving outcomes.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, part-time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications or working towards would be highly regarded.
* Experience in the utilisation of healthcare data information and reporting systems would be highly regarded.
* Current Driver’s Licence.
