The Department for Education is seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Speech Pathologist in our Children's Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting (children's centres). About this role:
Children's Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting (children's centres) provide a network of integrated health, family support, and education service hubs for families with babies and young children across South Australia. Children’s centres speech pathologists provide a range of discipline-informed group and individual services for children, families, and colleagues that promote children’s healthy development and support parenting through both universal and targeted service provision. The speech pathologists provide evidence-based services drawing upon key frameworks including attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, cultural responsiveness, and use a strengths-based approach. Speech pathologists are members of interdisciplinary teams working in partnership with families, government, and non-government sector colleagues across community, home, and learning environments. Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey; as such, we value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing, and being.
Qualifications:
Essential: An appropriate degree or equivalent which gives eligibility for full membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
Desirable: Current practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia with Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status.
Special Conditions:
* Gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to employment requiring renewal every five years before expiry.
* Undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course (updated every three years).

Remuneration: AHP2: $88,255 - $102,240 per annum (1.0 FTE) + 11.5% superannuation + leave loading.

Gabmididi Manoo Children and Family Centre, Whyalla – Part-time (0.5 FTE) for 12-month contract starting 11/02/2025.
Mount Gambier Children’s Centre – Part-time (0.6 FTE) ongoing contract starting 01/01/2025.
Ngura Yadurirn Children and Family Centre, Ceduna – Part-time (0.6 FTE) contract starting immediately until 05/08/2025.
Roles are based in these locations; however, FIFO arrangements from Adelaide will be considered with meal and accommodation allowances provided and flight and airport parking/travel costs covered.
