The Maintenance Systems Officer is accountable for a variety of activities including:
* Development of regional maintenance plans, forecasting of future workload and repair parts to support the sustainment of materiel logistics.
* Implementing and ensuring compliance with policy, processes and procedures to support the sustainment of Defence equipment.
* Provide responses to complex correspondence, briefs and reports for delegate consideration, and builds and sustains relationships with key stakeholders at the operational and unit level.
* Manage budgets in support of various fleets of Defence.
* Collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve materiel logistics issues and the application of expertise and initiative to identify alternate courses of actions is a key part of the role.

Located in Singleton, NSW, within the Joint Logistics Unit East's Hunter Valley Detachment, there is an opportunity to work in an integrated military, civilian, and commercial contractor unit. This unit delivers logistics services to the Department of Defence, driven by a "one team" approach. You will be part of a small, skilled, and dedicated team that provides maintenance and support to Defence units in the Hunter Valley and Northern NSW. Our Ideal Candidate
As an APS5 Maintenance Systems Officer, you will work as part of an integrated workforce to achieve complex materiel logistics outcomes. The ideal candidate will also:
* Be capable of interpreting legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence mission and policy requirements, to apply processes and procedures.
* Be skilled and experienced in providing detailed materiel logistics technical and professional advice in relation to complex work.
* You will have experience in contributing to planning, program and project management, and policy development.
* You will have experience in building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing others.
* You will be capable of exercising financial responsibilities to achieve outcomes for Defence.
* You will be experienced in stakeholder engagement in relation to complex issues and will be able to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and manage their expectations to achieve results.
