We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as Maintenance & Project Officer. In this role, you will be predominantly looking after our two harvest vessels and may be required to support with other vessels. You will be responsible for providing preventative and corrective maintenance to these vessels with assistance from both the vessel engineers and onshore support.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, traveling between sites as required to carry out maintenance work and support ongoing projects, reporting to our Maintenance Manager. The full-time position is located at our southern site in Dover, Tasmania, working on a 5/2 roster, 38 hours per week.
What does a typical week consist of?
* Preventative and Corrective Maintenance: Performing regular maintenance on vessels and equipment to prevent issues and correct any that arise.
* Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems to maintain peak performance.
* Site Travel: Traveling between various sites to conduct maintenance work and support project activities.
* Team Collaboration: Working closely with team members to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities and equipment performance.
* Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* Spare Parts Management: Sourcing and managing spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed.
To be successful, you must bring the following:
* Mechanical and Hydraulic Aptitude: Strong skills in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic systems.
* Electrical Knowledge: Basic understanding of 12-24V electrical systems is preferred.
* Mobility: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
* Team and Independent Work: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
* Safety Commitment: Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
* Welding and Fabrication: Proficiency in welding and fabrication skills.
