About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Surveyor to join our Production Planning team. Reporting to the Super Intendent of Survey and GIS, you will be responsible for providing survey control for our mining operation and supporting operations in the use of Cat Terrain GPS machine guidance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing survey control for the mining operation
* Conducting stockpile and mining volume reconciliations
* Performing a mapping function for the mining operation
* Liaising with operations, planning and other departments to ensure all requirements for survey work are met on schedule
* Carrying out month end and statutory reporting
* Operating a UAV to carry out various survey tasks
Requirements:
* A commitment to safety and a strong understanding of industry best practices
* Degree qualifications in Surveying or similar field
* Minimum C class driver's license
* Extensive practical experience in a large open pit mining environment
* Remote Pilot License (RePL) for UAV operations
* Motivated by a desire to drive improvement and understand mining operation value levers
Beneficial Skills:
* Deswik and Maptek experience
* ArcGIS knowledge
* UAV and terrestrial scanning experience
* Working knowledge of Trimble GPS equipment
