As our new Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be a vital part of the Queensland Energy Team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to support the energy transition.Your role will include:Undertake scoping, concept and feasibility level studies for large scale battery storage and generation projects Manage, or be part of delivering large scale procurement processes including preparation of EPC/IPP type functional specifications, tender evaluations, negotiations, etc.Advisory services in relation to battery storage market trends, project development strategies and technical insights Support project implementation through a variety of roles that include detailed design, owner's engineer, lenders engineer and O&M phase support.Deeply understand our client's most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities relating to the energy sectorAsk the right questions to frame a strategic approach to problem solving and value creationSearch for innovative ideas and concepts to further improve delivery processes for the businessWhile the focus of the role is BESS, you will be part of a team working across a range of technologies including solar PV, wind, pumped hydro, hydrogen and hybrid/island grid applications, and have opportunity to contribute to a range of project types.Aurecon and Battery StorageAt Aurecon, we are passionate about playing a leading role in the transformation of the electricity sector and the decarbonisation of industry.We have a deep understanding of the solutions and pathways that are required to achieve this once in a lifetime transformation of the energy industry.A key technology focus is large-scale battery storage.Aurecon has already built a considerable legacy in this space, including on the landmark Hornsdale Power Reserve and Victorian Big Battery projects.In Queensland alone, we are the now the technical advisor / Owners Engineer across several large battery projects, working with both private developers and each of the QLD Government Owned (Power Gen) Corporations to successfully achieve their ambitious battery storage goals.Our QLD Energy team is playing a leading role in the ramp up of QLD's battery storage deployment, supporting many projects in other regions too.You will join a dynamic and industry leading team in this field, with the opportunity to work on a range of projects, throughout various stages of development through to execution.Does that pique your interest?What are we looking for from you?Alongside your industry experience in similar management consulting, engineering consulting, or equivalent roles, you'll also have:Able to bring innovation to complex problems using your problem solving and analytical skillsRelevant tertiary qualifications in electrical engineeringBe registered as a RPEQ or eligible for registrationHighly aligned with many of the Aurecon Attributes – co-creative, commercial, engaging, fearless, inquisitive, resourceful, sense maker, and unconventional thinkerPost-graduation experience (duration commensurate with level of position) in a role with close contact with the power industry, consulting, battery storage supply or power project developer/owner/operatorWell-rounded experience working on a diverse project portfolio across the energy space (balanced in both technical ability and consulting/managerial skills) and able to lead successful multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large-scale projects on time and to budget.Understanding of the project development lifecycle including;
