As a Nurse Unit Manager in the Health Services team at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the delivery of patient-centered healthcare to a diverse and vulnerable custodial population. You'll work closely with correctional staff and your multidisciplinary team to make a lasting impact, ensuring that patients receive holistic health care tailored to their needs.
In this role, you will:
* Lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of health services for inmates, ensuring the effective delivery of comprehensive primary healthcare
* Provide management oversight of a diverse group of health professionals within state-of-the-art healthcare facilities
* Reintegration of patients into the community
* Manage the diverse needs of patients, including culturally and linguistically diverse populations
* Work closely with correctional staff to ensure integrated health services delivery
About Clarence Correctional Centre
Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia. Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes, and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns.
Serco is a place for you
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
* Bachelor’s degree in nursing
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Postgraduate qualification in a clinical specialty, business, or management or working toward same
* Previous experience in a Nurse Unit Manager or related management/supervisory role
* An understanding of the professional, ethical, and legal requirements of the registered nurse
* Demonstrate understanding of clinical governance including health service accreditation
