About your next role
In this fixed-term, student-facing position, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care and support to under-18 students at Monash College and Monash University, helping them adjust to living and studying in Australia. This role is in-person on campus, ensuring you can directly engage with students and provide immediate support. Travel to other campuses at Caulfield, Clayton, Parkville, and Peninsula may be required.
Responsibilities Conduct in-person meetings regularly with under-18 students to offer support, refer them to welfare and other services in accordance with the National Code of Practice, and maintain supportive relationships with both the students and their parents throughout the guardianship period.Monitor the academic progress of under-18 students and proactively assist them in adhering to procedures that impact their academic progress.Provide support and guidance to students at risk of not meeting attendance or course requirements.Refer serious and/or complex issues and wellbeing concerns as necessary.Coordinate and deliver engaging pre-departure webinars and orientations sessions for Under 18 students.We are looking for someone who has: Proven experience in a pastoral care or social work role, handling sensitive, confidential, and complex student matters (essential).High self-motivation and exceptional customer service skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.Demonstrated ability to establish effective and productive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.Strong organisational, time management, and administrative skills.A tertiary or degree qualification, or equivalent work experience, to sufficiently understand the operations of a tertiary education institution (social work highly regarded).To Apply
