Permanent role Attractive Salary of $93,295.00 Hybrid (Monday and Thursday in the office, one other day work from home) We are looking for a dedicated Finance and People Operations Officer for our client at South Everleigh, Sydney. In this hybrid role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, supporting human resources, and ensuring the overall financial health and efficiency of the organization. Reporting directly to the Executive Officer, you will handle a range of responsibilities from financial reporting and business performance management to office administration, while working closely with various teams to achieve operational goals. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: Enter financial transactions and ensure their accuracy. Meet BAS and GST requirements. Report BAS and PAYG withholding to ATO when due. Generate and follow up on overdue invoices. Pay salaries, smart salary packaging, superannuation, staff expenses, and bills. Reconcile company credit cards and bank transactions. Reconcile petty cash monthly. Maintain and review finance procedures. Train staff and committees in understanding finance procedures. Business Performance Management: Oversee association finances to achieve plans and deliver budgeted profit. Manage cash flow and bank balances to maximize financial health. Review balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports. Analyse income and expenditure, making recommendations to increase profit. Support managers in optimising resource allocation, budgeting, and expenditure management. Develop and track budgets for operational areas and projects in consultation with managers. Report to the Board and management on financial performance, producing monthly financial reports. Office Management: Support WH&S standards compliance. Monitor compliance with financial, business, and employment requirements. Assist with company secretarial responsibilities in conjunction with external advisors. Ensure insurances and worker compensation are paid and up to date. Requirements: Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, or a relevant discipline (or working towards it) or a combination of study and experience. Recent and relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting. Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions. Understanding of paying salaries, smart salary packaging, and superannuation. Advanced user of MYOB and Microsoft Excel. Experience with integrated Financial Management Information Systems. Strong organisational and time management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to build and sustain productive working relationships. Decisiveness in dealing with challenging situations and providing frank advice.
