About Us: Shekinah Ranch is a Christ-centered equine and adventure camp dedicated to providing transformative experiences for children and young adults. Through outdoor activities, mentorship, and intentional discipleship, we create a space for students to grow in faith, leadership, and community.
We are seeking an Afterschool Site Supervisor & Summer Camp Administrative Assistant to support our afterschool program, work alongside camp leadership, and disciple interns and staff. This role includes administrative duties, program planning, and direct interaction with students in an outdoor, faith-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Afterschool Program Leadership (2 PM – 6 PM, Daily)
- Supervise and engage with 40-45 afterschool students in a structured, Christ-centered environment.
- Provide leadership and discipleship for interns and afterschool counselors.
- Assist the Campground Director in planning and facilitating outdoor adventure activities, team-building exercises, and faith-based discussions.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for all students, modeling Christian values.
- Collaborate with the Campground and Executive Directors on program development and curriculum planning.
2. Administrative Duties (10 AM – 1 PM, 3 Days/Week)
- Shadow and assist the Camp Administrator in overseeing program logistics.
- Help with scheduling, parent communication, record-keeping, and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Camp Administrator on fundraising, outreach, and community engagement efforts.
3. Camp Program Development (10 AM – 1 PM, 2 Days/Week)
- Assist in developing faith-based programming for afterschool and camp settings.
- Work alongside camp leadership to improve daily activities and staff training.
- Help plan summer camp activities, volunteer coordination, and discipleship initiatives.
Summer Transition Opportunities:
This position may transition into a summer leadership role such as:
- Camp Administrator (overseeing schedules, program execution, and operations)
- Discipleship Director (mentoring teen girls, leading Bible studies, and faith-based discussions)
- Day Camp Director (facilitating chapels and camp activities for the Day Camp program– ages 5-10)
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong Christian faith with a passion for discipleship and youth development.
- Experience in camp ministry, afterschool programming, or youth leadership.
- Leadership skills and ability to mentor young staff/interns.
- Organized & proactive in handling administrative responsibilities.
- Comfortable working outdoors and engaging in physical activities.
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: Based on experience; $28,000 - $38,000
