Join this dynamic team as a Senior Communications Advisor and lead the charge in transforming community engagement for a landmark transport infrastructure project 3 year contract Competitive hourly rate Sunshine Coast location As a Senior Communications Advisor, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the public image and community engagement strategy for a major transport infrastructure project. Your role will involve developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans, overseeing stakeholder engagement initiatives, and maintaining a positive relationship between the project and the public. Your expertise will guide the strategic direction of communications and ensure effective dissemination of information to various audiences. In addition to this, your main accountabilities will be to: Develop and execute a strategic communications plan to support the project's objectives and milestones. Lead community engagement efforts, including public consultations, to foster positive relationships and address community concerns. Craft clear and compelling messaging for various platforms, such as media releases, social media, newsletters, and project updates. Coordinate with project managers, government bodies, and contractors to ensure accurate and timely communication of project developments. Prepare briefing materials, speeches, and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders. Monitor and analyse media coverage, public opinion, and industry trends to inform communication strategies. Manage crisis communications and issue resolution, providing swift and appropriate responses to mitigate potential negative impacts on the project's reputation. Provide expert advice and support to senior leadership on communication and community engagement matters. Evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities and report on community engagement outcomes. Ensure all communication activities comply with legal, ethical, and organisational standards. Mentor communication professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. To be considered for this exciting role, you will need to bring: Minimum five years’ experience working in the communication and engagement field Preferably, experience working in the infrastructure, construction, or government sectors Proven ability to build strong relationships and manage a diversity of stakeholders Qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing are highly desirable International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certification, or a willingness to obtain certification independently.
