Role Overview
In your capacity as an ACURA Talent personal Home care worker, you will be vital to providing seniors with superior in-home care. Your major duty will be to assist our clients in improving their quality of life and preserving their independence. This position provides flexibility and the chance to significantly improve the lives of others.
Job Responsibilities
Your job as an ACURA Talent personal care worker will involve a range of duties designed to give senior clients complete care and support in their homes. Among your duties will be:
Accompanying clients during daily activities
* In order to improve customers' well-being, companionship and emotional support should be given, as should conversation and participation in leisure activities.
Assisting with mobility and transportation
* Ensuring that clients can access necessary services and appointments by providing them with safe mobility assistance and transportation. Note: To be eligible for this part of the job, you must have comprehensive auto insurance.
Food preparation and shopping
* Organizing and cooking wholesome meals in accordance with the dietary needs and preferences of clients.
* Helping with grocery shopping to guarantee that customers have access to a variety of fresh and healthful foods.
Arranging or accompanying on social activities and outings
* Arranging and supervising social events and excursions to encourage social interaction and guard against client isolation.
Performing domestic assistance tasks
* Completing modest housekeeping tasks including laundry, folding, ironing, and cleaning to keep customers' living spaces tidy and cozy.
Assisting with personal care and hygiene
* Helping clients with personal grooming duties while maintaining their privacy and dignity, such as bathing, dressing, shaving, and styling hair and cosmetics.
Travelling up to 30 minutes to complete services
* Delivering scheduled services on time and within a 30-minute travel radius to clients' residences.
* Organizing travel arrangements effectively will allow you to spend more time with clients and less time interrupting their daily schedules.
About You

* Requires a minimum of a Cert-3 in Individual Support - Ageing/Disability or a great deal of relevant experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and comprehension of the concepts and procedures of elder care, whether by formal education or pertinent professional experience.
* Must have own car & comprehensive insurance
* Ownership of a dependable car with full insurance protection, allowing you to move clients and travel between service locations in safety.
* First Aid and CPR certificate or willing to obtain
* First Aid and CPR certification that is current, or a desire to get certified before starting work.
* National Police Check within 12 months or willing to obtain
* Clearance from a National Police Check completed within the last year, or an assurance that one will get one as part of the hiring process.
* Flu & COVID Vaccinations
* Current vaccines against COVID-19 and influenza, in compliance with guidelines and regulations from the healthcare sector.
* Willingness to commit to short client services that can be 1hr-3hrs long
* Flexibility to care for and assist customers for brief service periods of one to three hours while realizing that all travel expenses are covered as part of regular working hours.
* Ability to speak a 2nd language is desirable: Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Farsi, Greek, Italian, Polish, and so forth
* It is extremely desirable but not necessary to be proficient in a second language, preferably Mandarin, Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Italian, Greek, Polish, or any other language that our clients frequently speak.
