It's a part of our DNA and what drives us.We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Event Coordinator to join us full time at Darwin Convention Centre! This role is responsible for the planning and coordination of the Centre's space, operations, and catering requirements for our clients' events, ensuring a world-class experience is provided.This will include tasks such as:Identify the client's requirements and expectations of each event using resources within the venue.Maintain clear communication of event requirements and updates to all Departments.Proactively develop and maintain relationships with all event partners, hirers, suppliers, and any other key contacts.Maintain up-to-date event files, ensuring all work activities and relevant information are recorded in our Centre’s USI Customer Relationship Management (CRM) booking system and database.Ensure compliance internally and with ISO9001, and where necessary ISO22000, ensuring all records are appropriately kept.Assist Finance with the collation of all client invoices.Assist with the production of monthly departmental reports.Assist with the development and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures for all event operations areas.Ensure organisational and regulatory Work Health and Safety requirements are met.Always represent Darwin Convention Centre in a professional manner.Any other duties and tasks as directed by the Event Supervisor or Event Services Manager.ABOUT YOUEvery day our people are responsible for delivering extraordinary experiences for every guest who walks through our doors. That's what makes you stand out from the crowd and why we want to meet with you.Minimum one year of experience in hospitality or event operations.Flexible availability for a rotating 7-day event-based roster.Strong knowledge and passion for food and beverage of event operations.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Professional personal presentation and grooming.Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines.Strong teamwork, leadership, and staff management skills.Organised with effective time management and attention to detail.Proactive, adaptable, and receptive to guidance.Personable, courteous, and customer-focused.Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management systems (e.g., Momentus).Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.Valid First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.A satisfactory National Police Records Check is required for this role.Applicants must have working rights within Australia.At Darwin Convention Centre, we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.
