About the role
We have an exciting opportunity in our property team based in our Cairns office, for an experienced Conveyancing Clerk on a full time basis. This role will see you working on all aspects of QLD conveyancing files within our existing and successful property team. Importantly, you will liaise with and keep our clients and other stakeholders informed throughout the process. This is a busy practice with great opportunities to grow your skills in a number of areas.
Previous experience within a property team in a professional services office environment would be highly regarded.
Working closely with a Special Counsel and Senior Conveyancer, some of your duties will include:
* Receiving and actioning client instructions
* Drafting relevant correspondence and legal documents
* Diary management and co-ordination of meetings
* Conducting searches
* Transcribing digital dictation
* Telephone calls to clients, other law firms and third parties
* Assisting with the conduct of commercial and conveyancing transactions in a predominantly electronic environment (including via PEXA);
* Checking contracts and preparing files for settlement
* File management, including opening new files and closing/archiving concluded matters
* Monthly billing, including invoicing and preparation of bills
* Other general administrative responsibilities as required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a Conveyancing Clerk with at least one year experience, who thrives in a busy environment. Your ability to work cohesively in a team, as well as autonomously will be valued, as will your strong commitment to outstanding customer service. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate initiative and good judgement, and have exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. Previous experience with PEXA is highly regarded.
