This excellent opportunity will be offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis at 38 hours a week.
The successful candidate must have:
· Excellent English skills
· Right to work in Australia
· AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
· Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the occupation or related field
· Team management skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Attention to detail
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Familiar with industry best practices
· Proficiency in all aspects of food safety
· Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
· Leadership qualities
· Butcher skills such as cutting techniques, meat identification, knife skills, and trimming.
Responsibilities include:
1. Getting meat ready for sale by deboning, trimming fat, and cutting, mincing, and grinding meat to the desired shape and size for display or customer orders
2. Preparing breaded meat cuts, as well as marinating, seasoning, and curing special cuts
3. Choosing and preparing meat for making smallgoods
4. Using machines to grind, mix, mince, and tenderize meat
5. Ensure all meats are handled and stored safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
6. Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, ensuring quality and freshness.
7. Collaborate with the team to maintain adequate inventory levels and manage meat supplies efficiently.
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
9. Make arrangements for the delivery of orders received from the customers.
10. Offer meaningful advice to customers on ways to preserve meats they don’t intend using the same day.
11. Educate customers on their choice of meat to satisfy their meat desires.
