St Mary MacKillop College is Canberra’s largest secondary school, operating across two campuses. Years 7 to 9 are based on the Padua Campus (Wanniassa) and Years to are based on the St Peter’s Campus (Isabella Plains). About the Role
St Mary MacKillop College have two Religious Education Coordinator (REC) positions available. The College is seeking to appoint two REC’s, one to lead RE on the Padua Campus (Years 7 to 9) and one the St Peter’s Campus (Years to ). The successful candidates will bring excellent teaching skills as well as exceptional Religious Education curriculum knowledge.
This role shares with the Principal and the Leadership Team the responsibility of:
1. educational and spiritual leadership.
2. the development of a Christ-centred faith community.
3. ensuring Catholic perspectives are embedded across all subject areas.
The role of Religious Education Coordinator is a Senior Leadership position. This position is to be held by a practicing Catholic who is committed to the Catholic faith and the spiritual wellbeing and growth of all.

Essential Criteria
11. Be a practicing Catholic
12. Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest
13. For position in the ACT - TQI registration & Working with Vulnerable People Card
14. For position in NSW - NESA registration & NSW Working with Children Check.
15. Must be a qualified Teacher with a minimum of five years’ experience.
16. Must have completed, be due to complete or a willingness to complete Accreditation D and E, according to the Accreditation to work, teach and lead in a Catholic School Policy.
Selection Criteria
17. Has experience in leading and building the capacity of staff in Religious Education curricula.
18. Has experience in leading change and demonstrates contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student outcomes in Religious Education, including implementing High Impact Teaching Practices.
19. Has experience in evaluating, analyzing, and using data to inform learning and engage in future strategic planning in Religious Education.
20. Demonstrates effective communication with a variety of stakeholders to build relationships.
21. Has experience in working closely with the priests and the parish community to foster strong relationships with all parish agencies.
