The Assistant in Nursing will be a valued member of the Nursing and Midwifery team to support the Nursing team in the delivery of nursing in an Acute Care and Sub Acute environment as directed by the Registered Nurse:
Duties and tasks may include (but are not limited to):
* The role may include a range of tasks such as assisting with patients daily living activities (for example personal hygiene and mobility) help maintain a safe and clean environment in the ward.
* Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required
* Communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol.
* Assist nursing and allied health staff with direct patient care.
* Under the supervision of the Nurse in Charge (NIC) / Team Leader (TL) assist with patient movement, handling and transport.
* Maintain a physical and psychosocial environment that enhances safety, security and optimal health.
* Work in partnership with the clinical team to identify opportunities to improve patient care and reduce clinical risk.
